Fix It Dammit!

A reader in the Haight reports that about two months ago, some punks took the light bulbs out of the "Walk/Don't Walk" crossing sign in front of Ben & Jerry's. She contacted DPW and was told the City can't find the money to replace the light bulbs. Can you believe this? Call the Department of Public Works at (415) 554-6926.

Even shorter folks have to duck down to pass this row of trees on the 400 block of Clayton at Page. A concerned also said that the trees block light from the streetlamps, making for a very eerie and dangerous walk at night.

Call Street Environmental Services at (415) 695-2017.

This hole in the sidewalk has been partially exposed for at least six months, according to Elana, a resident who lives on the 700 block of Fillmore Street. She said someone at one time even put an old painting over the hole to warn pedestrians. Let's get this repaired!

Call the Dept. of Public Works at (415) 78-CLEAN.

This steel slide at West Sunset Playground near the Ortega/39th Ave. Branch Library and A.P. Giannini Middle School is broken, and according to one parent whose child was injured on it, "dangerous." The slide has separated from its frame, exposing a foot-long sharp edge. Let's get this repaired or closed!

Call the Recreation and Park Commission at (415) 831-2750.
